About the SoCal Super Street Association

Southern California Super-Street Association began competition in 1989 when a group of racers banded together to give an alternative to bracket racing and provide a fun, competitive, racer run organization.

Southern California Super-Street format is based on the NHRA style of “Super” index racing. We compete on a heads up 10.90 dial, using a .500 pro tree. A weight rule is not in effect, which allows competitors from Super gas, Street and bracket racing to come and enjoy the competition we can provide. Most racers will compete in our organization before venturing out and competing on the NHRA circuit. Current top NHRA sportsman racers continue to hone their skills by competing in our events. We feel if you can win at a Southern California Super-Street event you can win anywhere. In fact our racers have won numerous NHRA Divisional and National events.

In our 16th year, we are averaging over seventy entries and as high as 105 entries, to compete in our eight race season. We compete at two local facilities, Los Angeles County Raceway and California Dragway. To this day, the organization continues to be run by a group of volunteer racers. All sponsorship support and entry fees go back to the racer in the form of payouts and banquet awards.

At the end of the season, we gather together to show our appreciation to our sponsors, racers and the families that make Southern California Super-Street association what it is today.

As we look forward to another year of good, safe and fruitful racing, we would like to include you and your business into the continuing growth of the organization.

Thank you,
Mike Scarpelli
SCSST President
